- How do I pay for classes?
- If it’s your first time enrolling in a class, then please enrol and pay via classmanager here. The fee covers a term lasting between 11-14 weeks. Your enrolment will automatically carry over to the next term, and you will receive an invoice at the beginning of each new term for online payment via classmanager. Please ensure fees are paid in advance before the start of the term.
- How can I cancel my membership?
- We kindly ask for a minimum of 1 months’ notice before the start date of the following term if you wish to cancel your membership. If a new student finds the class unsuitable after 3 classes, they may either change to another class or cancel their membership. In the latter case, we will happily refund the remaining fees, less the cost of the 3 classes attended. Please note that this is only for new students.
- Are there refunds for absences?
- Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for absences or reductions for part-term attendance. However, if your child is unable to attend a class, they are welcome to make it up by attending any other suitable class.
- What happens if a class is cancelled?
- In the rare event of a class cancellation, we will do our best to re-schedule the class, usually during school holidays. If re-scheduling isn’t possible, fees will be deducted from the following term’s fees. Students are also welcome to attend a similar class to make up for any cancelled sessions.
- Is there a uniform requirement?
- Yes, we ask that all students wear the FLSD uniform, which is available for purchase at the studio. The same uniform is used for exams to. For safety reasons, please ensure that any jewellery items that may cause injury are removed before class.
- When should students arrive for class?
- We recommend that students arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their class to help maintain a calm atmosphere. Students are kindly asked to wait quietly in the changing room until class begins.
- Can parents watch the classes?
- We understand the desire to observe classes, but parents/carers are kindly asked not to watch except during “watching week” at the end of each term. For Baby Ballet classes, parents/carers may attend the trial class, but we suggest only staying for the first 10 minutes so that the other students do not get distracted/unsettled.
- What should I do if my child needs help changing?
- Our friendly receptionist is available to assist children who need help changing, so there’s no need for parents to enter the studio.
- Are there changing facilities for children?
- Yes, we have changing facilities available for children. However, for safeguarding reasons and to maintain a comfortable space, we kindly request that parents do not use these areas as waiting rooms.
- How should parents collect their child after class?
- We kindly ask that parents wait outside the studio to collect their child. Our team will bring your child to you, which helps us avoid crowding in the reception area.
- What are the communication methods used by FLSD?
- We send invoices and essential communications via email. Please ensure you provide a valid email address and check your spam folder to ensure you receive important updates from us.
- Can the school timetable change?
- Yes, the school timetable may be revised as needed, however this happens very rarely. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.
- Is FLSD affiliated with any dance organizations?
- Yes, Frances Lundy School of Dance is proud to be affiliated with the Royal Ballet School (ATAP), the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Students may enter exams at the teacher’s discretion.
